Before you begin troubleshooting, please verify that the spirometer is in the following state:
- Make sure the spirometer is paired within the Zephyrx Kiosk app.
- The spirometer is NOT paired in the Bluetooth settings. The ZX Bluetooth app will take control of Bluetooth and pair the device automatically. It does not need to be paired in the system settings to function. However, the Bluetooth option should remain toggled ON.
- The device is not currently charging, and the site is not attempting to charge it using a wall adapter. This is a known issue reported by MIR, and the recommended approach is to use cables connected directly to the tablet to charge the spirometer. Desktop computers and laptops also provide the proper voltage.
- The device has a high battery level. This can be checked in the Bluetooth settings rather than on the device screen. Please note that the battery level may display inaccurately due to the issue mentioned above.
Troubleshooting Methods / Common Issues
- Toggling Bluetooth: Quickly toggling Bluetooth off and back on in the Windows settings can sometimes help re-establish the connection. This is a quick and easy option to try first.
- Repair Spirometer in Kiosk: Log in to the Kiosk app and click the “Manage Kiosk” option in the top-right corner. This allows you to unpair and repair the spirometer within the Kiosk. Use the “Pair” or “Unpair” buttons and confirm the 5-digit code located on the back of the Spirobank II.
- App Relaunch: A simple app relaunch can help restart any pending processes and restore device functionality. This method can be used in conjunction with other troubleshooting steps.
- Metered Connections: In some cases, the Bluetooth settings may display the message “Cannot connect using metered connections.” There is a setting below the Bluetooth pairing options that can be toggled to resolve this issue.
